MIN. FIREFIGHTER CERTIFICATION
ALL volunteer and paid on call fire fighters must be certified as a FFII by the Michigan Fire Fighter Training Council within twenty-four (24) months of hire.
Rescue attendants MUST hold a minimum of an MFR or higher State of Michigan EMS lic.
A. Must be 18 years or older at time of employment and have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
B. Must possess, a valid unrestricted State of Michigan Drivers License with not more than 6 points on their license.
C. No felony or disqualifying criminal convictions
.D. Ability to meet departmental physical standardsE. Live within the Elsie Fire Department 's coverage area.
Application
CADET FIREFIGHTERS
1. Be at least 16 years of age when applying.
2. Reside within the district of the Elsie Area Fire Department.
3. Must be enrolled in school and must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher and no truancies. Grades must be submitted each semester to allow continued participation in the program
.4. If the cadet misses school other than for a school function, the cadet shall not attend any fire department function for that day that they missed school.
At no time shall a cadet respond during the times of 6:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. in a regularly scheduled school day and MAY NOT carry a pager with them to school.
Application
JR FIREFIGHTERS
1. Be at least 10 years of age when applying.
2. Reside within the district of the Elsie Area Fire Department.
3. If the cadet misses school other than for a school function, the cadet shall not attend any fire department function for that day that they missed school.
At no time shall a JR firefighter respond to calls. JR firefighters may attend training events.
